Class 4 Visit Wicken Fen

24th September 2015
Class 4 visited Wicken Fen as part of their project to find out more about the Fens. As well as enjoying a boardwalk around the nature reserve to learn about how and why the Fens were drained, we visited the workshop and cottage.

National Trust volunteers John and Judy explained about the lives of the people who lived in the Fens in the past and answered our many questions. The cottage was small, with the oldest part consisting of only two rooms, and we learnt how hard it would have been to live there. We particularly enjoyed looking at the many tools in the workshop and imagining what they might have been used for.
