Forest Schools

29th January 2014

The children in Foundation Stage spend Wednesday mornings in the Round Moat site. They are able to learn about the environment, develop wood craft skills and appreciate the natural world.   The Forest Schools initiative has been developed in the UK from Scandanavian countries, where young children spend much of the school day outdoors. They learn how to build shelters, make fires and cook outdoors. Our children have made dens and experienced land art.  We are most grateful to the PTFA for funding the purchase of the all-in-one waterproofs for the children. These can be viewed in the Gallery.
