Soldier Visit

22nd July 2013

On Monday 22nd July Classes 3 and 4 had a visit from a serving officer for the British Army, which linked with their WWII topic.  The children compared a WW2 soldier and their duties with someone serving in modern warfare.  The children enjoyed looking at pictures of a serving soldier at Kabul Camp in Afghanistan.  They also got to look at the uniform and try out some of the kit and see how heavy it is!

The children had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and hear about stories from the front line.  We would like to thank Mr Irvine for visiting us and telling us about his role. Please look at some of the photographs in the gallery.
