Burwell House

30th June 2016
Children in Class 4 have spent three days from Monday 27th June at Burwell House in Cambridgeshire. The residential experience focuses on two very different themes: Environmental Education and Film Education.
Whilst staying at Burwell, the class took part in a number of outdoor activities, including building on their earlier orienteering experiences and other problem solving tasks, within the 19th century house's spacious grounds.
The children also had the opportunity to make an news broadcast using the TV studio facilities. Having scripted news broadcasts based on Beowulf back in school, groups of children rehearsed their programme, whilst others ran the technical side. The filming is organised as a "live" broadcast and so there is plenty of pressure to get things right.
Some photos of the visit are included below.
