Allyance (Melbourn Cluster Child Counselling Service)

‘allyance’ has been selected as one of the organisations to receive money from The Cambridge Cash for the Community project featured in the Cambridge News. The first of the 23 tokens will appear in the Cambridge News on Monday 4th February 2013. The remaining tokens will appear daily up until and including Friday 1st March 2013.
Readers of the Cambridge News need to cut out as many of the 23 tokens as they can on behalf of allyance, once tokens have been collected please hand them in at school by Friday 8th March.

The in-school counselling service helps children aged 4 to 11 with a range of issues including bereavement, family breakdown, social difficulties and self-harming.

It offers the service at 16 schools in the areas of Melbourn, Bassingbourn and Gamlingay.

Allyance, which also works with the children’s families and school staff, said experience has shown that intervention early on helps stop things escalating later.

Its services are provided free of charge and the money it raises is used to fund therapists.
