BAS visit to Class 1

15th January 2018
On Monday 15th January, Class 1 had a visit from Dr Katrin Linse and Mariella Giancola from British Antarctic Survey to support the children's work on the Polar Regions. The class found out about how the BAS team stationed in Antarctica live in such a cold environment, tried on some of the clothing and equipment needed and saw photographs of the different creatures which live in this most inhospitable place.

The class had great questions for the visitors and had the chance to look at some specimens of creatures from the Antarctic. They watched some videos of the work done by Dr Linse to learn about the sea creatures which inhabit the waters around Antarctica.
