School Vision and Ethos

Fowlmere Primary School Vision

Fowlmere School provides a flourishing, safe, community focused learning environment with opportunities for all pupils to enhance their personal development.

Pupils are respectful to each other and their environment, are kind and ready to learn and make good progress.  Pupils benefit from an engaging curriculum which encourages them to make informed, thoughtful decisions and take pride and confidence in their work.

Staff are strong, supportive and confident in their ability to offer a stimulating, enriching and challenging learning environment.  Staff encourage children to strive, enjoy learning, and achieve their best potential, and are supported by senior leaders. The school is a great place to work, no matter what stage in their career our staff are at, and our staff members are supported as much as our children to meet their professional development goals.

Fowlmere School is at the heart of the village community and involved in a broad spectrum of community activities for the mutual benefit of our children and their families, staff and wider community.

 School Ethos

At Fowlmere Primary School we celebrate all pupils who are part of our school family. We aim to encourage their talents, abilities and experiences so that they achieve their full potential. We want each individual to grow in confidence, knowledge and awareness and we provide a happy, caring and stimulating atmosphere where they will enjoy learning, feel secure and involved. We endeavour to promote a love for learning, a love for life and a love for one another.

We wish to inspire pupils’ minds in a high quality learning environment. Pupils are encouraged to express themselves, ask questions and use their imagination. Learning is based on first-hand experience whenever possible and the classroom extends to the local community and beyond. We equip our pupils with the skills and attitudes to cope with a rapidly changing society. The value of life-long learning is upheld and emphasised.

We aim to maintain a school where everyone is respectful and considerate to one another regardless of race, culture, religion, gender or ability. Friendly and caring attitudes and actions towards people in our families, school, local community and the world beyond, are constantly be encouraged. Courtesy and good behaviour through self-discipline is expected and positively reinforced.
